Week 33 - Ministering!!

Hello wonderful people in my life!! I just want to start and say how incredibly grateful I am for all of you. And how happy I am that I have such great support from the greatest people. My family and friends included. I just have the best people in my life. Truly. So blessed.

My week has just been wonderful. Oh, and just to let everyone know, I will be writing every other week from now on because I will spend the other weeks CALLING my family!! And I have a time limit so I will just send emails every other week. Sorry but not sorry, cause talking to my family is the best(:

This week, my companion and I went ministering. We got a list of a ton of inactives in our ward, and went and searched them out. Sometimes we only had a very vague address, so we ended up walking for like an hour around neighborhoods or two hours just to find houses. We got to all the ones on our list and was hoping that something would come out of it. We trusted that we were doing good by shepherding the lost sheep in our ward. We got rejected A LOT and got A LOT of excuses. The most common ones were "we returned back to Catholic" or "we don't have money to get to the church". Sister Gepulla and I got pretty emotionally drained from hearing all the excuses but we did not lose our fire! We kept going every day and preaching the gospel to those sheep that have lost their fire, in hopes to remind them of the sacred covenant they made at baptism.

AND THEN!! Sunday came and we were fasting, because it was Fast Sunday, and praying super hard that our efforts would make a difference and THEN like FOUR of the families we had visited came to church and Bishop stood up in sacrament meeting and was like "Woah, I am seeing families that haven't come to church for years and they are with us in our congregation right now!!" Everyone was just so happy. We had multiple people come up and thank us for going and visiting them and making a difference. We were so happy. Sister Gepulla bore her testimony and cried because she was so happy to see the difference our efforts made. Happy happy day!!

Other than that, yesterday was maintenance on all electricity so we had no lights, no electricity, no electric fans, nothing. I was sweating all day I was so hot! But of course, it just made me more grateful for electric fans. Both in the chapel and in our house. It will be weird when I go back and every building has AC. I am so going to freeze everywhere haha. But then, we got home, and the whole city's electricity got turned back on at about 5pm but, when we got home, ours still wasn't on. So I  just kind of turned on the light even though it didn't work, and then we were praying as a companionship, cause we do that every time we leave and arrive. I was saying the prayer, and I went to pray that the lights would turn on soon, and BEFORE I COULD EVEN FINISH MY SENTENCE the light turned on!!! I literally stopped my prayer and said "WOAH" hahha it was so cool. I think that was the first IMMEDIATE answer I have gotten to my prayer. It was so neat. I love that Heavenly Father answers prayers. The heavens are so open right now!!

I have been studying the new preach my gospel because we all just got copies. I have the old one and the new one side by side as I study and compare the differences. Some changes are like additional whole paragraphs and some changes are just changing "doctrines" to "doctrine" but each change is so inspired and I just LOVE it!! I just feel SO strongly how our prophet receives modern revelation. It's straight evidence of modern revelation and I just love it. My favorite addition is "Go About Doing Good" section all about selfless service. A lot of the times missionaries get so focused on teaching, teaching, teaching, that they forget that we are servants. Some missionaries don't bother "wasting" the time to stop and serve because they want more lessons for our daily reports we send in. But in that section it clearly says we are servants of the Lord. We are representatives of Jesus Christ and he very well did both. It says we should serve out of selfless desires and not just because we want an opportunity to teach. I just love it because every week, now, Sister Gepulla and I serve out in the sugar cane fields. Sometimes we weed, sometimes we plant, and all the time we are talking about gospel principles just because they are curious why these two girls in dresses would come out and get dirty for nothing. It's been so great. We don't even teach all of them, but we feel just as happy because we are serving God's children. And I know it will make a whole new kind of Christlike impact on their lives.

I love my mission! I love this gospel!!! SO MUCH!!

And most importantly, I love y'all. And of course miss y'all lots.

Sister Robertson

We did a woman's laundry for like 3 hours for service!! My back hurts!

We have been teaching 4 pastors of Seventh Day Adventist. Three of them came to church. I call that success. I had to take a picture. So yeah there were three pastors in sacrament meeting.
A woman who got baptized name Rosewen. She's awesome!

Lots of support from the ward!

We got ice cream after a hard day haha
